Creating a Website Delivery (Direct Delivery) Course

This article describes how to create a new Website Delivery (Direct Delivery) course section on the OLI Torus website. Direct Delivery courses are available to you and your students at proton.oli.cmu.edu and not through an LMS.
Notes
If you're using your school's Learning Management System (LMS), you don't need a Direct Delivery course.

  1. Sign in with your OLI Torus instructor account at proton.oli.cmu.edu. Click on the Instructor workspace option as the left if needed.

If the + Create New Section button is not active, contact oli-help@cmu.edu for instructor access for your account.
  2. Click + Create New Section.
  3. In the Search field, type the topic you're looking for and then click the Search button. Consider the exact course title, Real Chem will not be found by searching chemistry, for example.
Note: If you do not find the course you want, you may need to link your instructor account to your authoring account or contact your project collaborators to gain access to the materials or email oli-help@cmu.edu for assistance.
Create Course Sections from Authoring Projects (Link Educator Account to Authoring Account)
  4. Enter the Course Name field as you want it to appear to your students. The Course section number field is required but can be anything you like, such as your class's catalog number.
  5. Click the box that corresponds to your class style: Only in person; Only online; Both in person and online; Never, it's a self paced course Then click Next Step.
  6. Choose the days of the week you meet, the Start Date, the End date, and the time you prefer your assignments to be due. This can be changed later. Click Create Section.

  7. Now you'll find yourself on the Manage Course page.

See here to invite your students to access your new course!
