How to Preview an Instructor View of the Course

Overview

This mode of preview is for instructors to see their course with all of the correct answers. This avoids instructors having to click through logic trees, particularly in advanced authoring pages, in order to get to the correct answer. Think of it as OLI’s version of the “instructor guide” to a student’s printed workbook, with the answer key provided.

How to Get to “Preview Course”

Make sure you are in the “Manage” tab of your preferred Course Section. For more information on selecting a Course Section, see How to Navigate "My Courses".

Make sure you are seeing "Manage" at the top of your screen.

Once in “Manage”, scroll down to the “Curriculum” tab on the page. To the right of the tab menu, select “Preview Course as Instructor”.

The tabs, or labels, are on the left side of the window.

Clicking on this link opens the course in a new tab in the instructor view. In the bottom left corner, where the user role is typically shown, should be the text “Preview”.
