Creating an LMS-delivered course

This article describes how to create a new OLI Torus course via your Learning Management System (LMS). NOTE: If you don't have an existing Torus integration with your LMS, you can initiate the process here or you can  a Direct Delivery course.

  1. In your LMS, click the OLI Torus link. It should open in a new tab and prompt you to "Create Course."
  2. In the Search field, type the topic you're looking for and then click the SEARCH button.
    Note: If you do not find the course project you want, you may need to link your educator account to your authoring account or contact your project collaborators to gain access to the project.
  3. Enter the Course Name field as you want it to appear to your students. The Course section number field is required, but can be anything you like, such as your class's catalog number.
  4. Click the box that corresponds to your class style: Only in person; Only online; Both in person and online; Never, it's a self paced course The click Next Step.
  5. Choose the days of the week you meet, the Start Date, the End date, and the time you prefer your assignments to be due. This can be changed later. Click Create Section.

  6. Now you'll find yourself on the Manage Course page.
When you need to return to your LMS-linked OLI Torus course, just click the link to OLI Torus.
NOTE: you cannot access your LMS-linked course by signing in on the OLI website.
