Access an Existing Project as an Author or Collaborator
To join an existing project, you must be invited by an existing collaborator (author) or an administrator. Invitations are sent by email.
Key Terms
Project: The base course where all authoring takes place. When a project is published, instructors can create course sections for review or use with their students. By default, projects are restricted to instructors listed
Collaborators: Authors who have access to a project.
Products: Variations of a project that may include additional customizations such as certificates, pricing, or specialized content. Course sections are often created from products.
Accepting an Invitation
Watch for an email with the subject line: “You were invited as a collaborator to [project name]” from oli-help@cmu.edu.
If you do not find the emailed invitation, you may want to check SPAM or check other email inboxes in case you were invited by another email address. If you need a different email address to be invited, contact the person who invited you or
oli-help@cmu.edu.
Open the message and click the Go To Invitation button.

Choose to Accept or Reject the invitation.

If you accept, follow the prompts to:
Sign up for a new Authoring account
OR
Sign in with your existing Authoring account.
Important:
Authoring accounts are separate from Instructor/Student accounts. Even if you already have an Instructor or Student account, you must create a new Authoring account (you may use the same email and password if you like).
OLI Torus is completely separate from other OLI platforms. Even if you had an account at oli.cmu.edu or echo.oli.cmu.edu, you will need to create an new OLI Torus account.
