Add a Practice Page to Your Torus Project
In this article, you will learn:
- The function of practice pages.
- How to add a practice page to your project.
The Function of Practice Pages
OLI Torus has two page types: graded and ungraded. These page types have the same authoring interface, but serve different purposes in terms of grading. Practice pages are ungraded. This means that any activities on the pages will not collect grades for the instructor gradebook, and are there to serve as practice problems, known as formative assessments, for students to attempt in order to test their learning. Graded Assessments, which are known the graded pages, will collect grade data to populate instructor gradebooks.
Practice pages typically host instructional content, such as text, images, videos, and other learning materials. This is the more commonly used page in a Torus project.
Adding a Practice Page
Practice pages can be added in any part of the curriculum view. Any container can nest a practice page (see
Create Project Containers for more information). To add a practice page to your project:
- Log into OLI Torus's authoring platform and navigate to the project of your choice.
- Hover over the "Create" tab and select "Curriculum".
- Find the "Create" menu below existing containers. Note: If Curriculum is blank, the menu will still be there.
- If wanting to create a Practice Page within a container, navigate within existing containers to get to the appropriate container.
- Select "Practice Page" from the Create menu.
- A new practice page will appear on the page.
In this screenshot, there is a Unit container in Curriculum. The "Create" menu is still visible if there is no content on the page. A new practice page will appear on the Curriculum view. If containers or other pages were already on the view, then the new practice page will spawn beneath the existing material.
