Customize Project Labels for a Torus Project

Using Project Labels in Torus

Learning materials are organized using containers in Torus. Containers are identified hierarchically with project labels. This helps the author to create folders to organize content within. The typical project labels in torus are as follows:
  1. Unit
  2. Section
  3. Module
  4. Page
Pages are the container type that hold text, media, and activities. Units, Sections, and Modules organize around Pages. The containers are used in the "Curriculum" view in the Torus authoring platform, where authors host their materials.

Changing Project Labels in Torus

Authors may want to use different terminology for their course. For example, rather than "Module", an author may want to call his unit, module, or section a "chapter". Torus has settings in order to change this across a project.
  1. After logging into Torus and accessing your project, hover over the "Create" tab in the sidebar.
  2. Select the "Overview" tab.
  3. Scroll down to the tab called "Project Labels". There should be three fields:
    1. module
    2. section
    3. unit
  4. Change any of the fields to any desired label
