Add Explanations of the Answer to Activities
In addition to Hints and Incorrect Feedback, Explanations appear after the student has attempted the question a specified number of times. This can be helpful if you want students to receive a fuller explanation or the correct approach after, for example, 3 or 5 incorrect attempts or, in the case of scored pages, after the maximum number of attempts has been submitted.
Below are the steps to enable and add Explanations.
1. From Curriculum or All Pages view in Authoring, click the 3-dot menu to go to the page Settings to turn on Explanations for each page that should show Explanations.
2. Set the Explanation Strategy to After Set Num Attempts for practice pages or After Max Resource Attempts Exhausted for scored pages and Save.
3. Then add the Explanation text in the activity on the page.

Now the explanation text will appear to the student under the question feedback after the set number of submissions on a practice page or the maximum number of attempts has been submitted on a scored page.
