Add Activities to a Page from the Activity Bank

Use an Activity Bank Selector to add activities from the Activity Bank to a practice page or scored page.

The Activity Bank Selector controls:

  • The number of activities selected
  • The point value for each selected activity
  • The criteria used to select activities from the Activity Bank (Learning Objectives, Item Type, Tags)

The point value set in the Activity Bank Selector overrides the total points assigned to the individual activity. For multi-part questions, points are usually prorated among the parts according to the scoring settings in the activity.

Add an Activity Bank Selector to a page

  1. Open the page where the activities should appear.
  2. Open the Insert Content menu by hovering on the left side of the page, outside of the page content. If necessary, click outside of the page first.

  3. Select Bank.

  4. Complete the Activity Bank Selector settings.
  5. Enter the number of activities to select.
  6. Enter the points per question.
  7. Select Add Expression to add selection criteria.

  8. Complete each expression.

Choose selection criteria

Activity Bank Selector criteria can be based on:

  • Objectives
  • Item Type
  • Tags

For each expression, choose how the selector should match the selected value. Options may include:

  • Contains
  • Does not contain
  • Equals
  • Does not equal

If you add more than one criterion, choose whether the selected activities should match all criteria or any criteria.

Use all when activities must meet every requirement. For example, use all if the activity must have a specific objective and a specific tag.

Use any when activities may match one or more of the selected criteria.

Preview the selected activities

After configuring the Activity Bank Selector, select Preview at the top of the page to see the activity or activities that may appear.

The selector will choose the specified number of activities from the activities that match the criteria.

Review all possible activities

To see all activities that the Activity Bank Selector may choose from, use the same selection criteria in the Activity Bank.

  1. Open Activity Bank on the left menu under Create in the Project.
  2. Apply the same objectives, item types, tags, or other criteria used in the Activity Bank Selector.
  3. Review the matching activities.

The Activity Bank shows the full set of activities that match the criteria. The Activity Bank Selector on the page will choose the specified number of activities from that set.
